Manchester Electrical provide a full range of domestic and commercial periodic inspection and testing services. Electrical installations can deteriorate with use over a period of time. It is therefore very important that all installations are periodically tested and inspected to ensure that they remain safe and that they adhere to the latest safety regulations. We are fully qualified to carry out electrical condition reports and offer very competitive rates.

A periodic electrical inspection will record the results of the inspection and testing to make sure the electrical installation is safe to be used until the next inspection – following any work needed to make it safe. Inspections will find any damage and wear and tear that might affect safety and find any parts of the electrical installation that do not meet the IET Wiring Regulations. They also help find anything that may cause electric shocks and high temperatures and they provide a record of the installation and the time of the inspection for inspection testing in the future.

We advise domestic properties be tested every 5 years or every time a new tenant is let in to a property. Commercial premises vary depending on use but we would recommend a full inspection every 12 months, where there is a number of persons working in the premises on a daily basis and regularly using switches, sockets and appliances. Commercial insurance policies may also insist on these periodic time frames.

We also carry out electrical testing in properties prior to purchase, in derelict and rental properties as part of stock condition surveys and for insurance purposes.
