Manchester Electrical: Authorised Experts in Main Cut-Out Removal and Safety Upgrades

Manchester Electrical is one of only two contractors in Greater Manchester and the Northwest authorised to remove the main cut-out entering a property. It is illegal and dangerous for any unqualified electrician to perform this task, yet most electricians in the UK do so without the proper authorisation.

With the full support of the Distribution Network Operator (DNO), we are committed to installing safety systems in every property. We’re working closely with housing associations across the Northwest to ensure their electricians can safely carry out necessary work.

As regulations change, we will be installing double-pole isolators with built-in surge protection to comply with safety circuit requirements introduced on September 27, 2022. These isolators help avoid the need for full consumer unit replacements, ensuring future electrical work can be performed safely.

After installation, we reseal the cut-out, meter, and isolators with our unique identification number, providing full traceability and security. This also helps prevent electricity theft.

Please note that the power will be switched off for the duration of the works.
